The Aust-class cruiser analog was a cruiser analog that served as the bulk of the Lefan Royal Navy around 8 ABY. Designed by the national Lefan Research Corporation and built by Lefan Imperial Arms, it was a flexible multi-role platform designed to engage cruisers and frigates while being capable of defending against starfighter attack. Its fast sublight speeds also made it able to chase blockade runners and escape when facing a superior foe. The redundant shield systems of the ship also made it resistant to lighter fire but this came at the cost of increased vulnerability to ion attacks.
