Captain Tolian Naros (Larry LaVerne) was an El-Aurian who, in his 645 years, had witnessed historical conflicts among many cultures, especially in the Briar Patch. Naros appeared to have singular insight into the nature of the Patch. Earlier in his life, a time he described as one he wasn't particularly proud of, he was a prominent figure in the Patch, making contact with Tren'La, and opening them up to trade with civilizations outside the Patch. He traveled the Patch's subspace currents freely, and bragged about his knowledge of them. He was not alone, though. His partner at the time, Siroc, has now become his bitter nemesis.
