"West End Blues" was a jazz composition which was written in the early 20th century. Louis Armstrong made a recording of the composition with his band Louis Armstrong and the Hot Five in 1928. This recording became regarded as one of the greatest masterpieces of early jazz. In 2379, William T. Riker played Armstrong's version of the track while he was "stargazing" using a holographic representation in the holotank of the USS Titan's stellar cartography laboratory. (TTN novel: Taking Wing)
