A protoform scanning mishap resulted in an Autobot protoform being altered by Megatron into a Decepticon while attaining attributes of his programming, Optimus Prime's Autobot spark and Kelly's bio-energy. Now, that protoform became Scourge. He is arguably Megatron's second-in-command, leading the new Decepticon forces, a much more effective unit than Sky-Byte's Predacons. There's also a rare variation, one with blue Light-piping instead of red eyes, and non-foam missiles. Naturally, Sky-Byte sees Scourge as a threat on just about every level. For once, he's right.
