The Rua Nuva was the Kanohi Nuva Mask of Wisdom, formed when a destined Kanohi Rua was exposed to Energized Protodermis and transformed or if a Kaukau Nuva, Miru Nuva, and Akaku Nuva were merged together. The Rua Nuva gave its user and those nearby the enhanced powers of Water Breathing, Levitation, and X-Ray Vision. The wearer of the Kanohi Nuva could activate the different mask powers individually or together. The only beings able to activate this mask's power were Toa Nuva and their Kaita.
