This technique is something of a bane to other sealing techniques. Once this seal is applied to another seal, the latter becomes either weakened or destroyed completely. Stronger seals, when hit with this technique, will only weaken but weaker seals could be removed altogether. The problem with this technique is that if a seal is placed on something to be activated later, using this technique to alter the seal might cause it to activate. For example, if one were to use this technique on an exploding tag, the tag would simply explode instead of weaken.
