Grubitsch "Grubbs" Grady is the main protagonist of The Demonata series by Darren Shan, narrating its first, third, fifth, sixth, eighth and tenth installments. Grubbs is the son of Cal and Sharon Grady, and used to live a relatively normal, happy life. Unfortunately, things go south when Grubbs is plunged into the world of the The Demonata and has to move in with his uncle Dervish. Over the years things only get worse, as Grubbs is afflicted with Lycanthropy as a result of a family curse, and everyone around him is seemingly dying. Finally, Grubbs discovers that he's actually a crucial component in an ancient prophecy revolving around the destruction of the universe, and must decide how to act in order to prevent said apocalyptic events from unfolding.
