In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Shulk's Standard Special, Monado Arts, allows him to use a Monado Art that briefly increases and decreases certain attributes of his. The first art that will appear will always be the jump art, which makes Shulk jump higher, and increases the height of Air Slash, but decreases lateral midair movement and defense. Monado Jump is unique to Super Smash Bros., and technically has no connection to Purge, however the two arts bear some similarities. As said before, Jump increases Shulk's jumping capabilities, and in the original game, Shulk jumps into the air before using Purge. Also, the color Shulk glows when using Jump is the same shade of green the Monado glows when Shulk is using Purge.
