The Olnick family was one of the richest merchant families from Naboo. They were centered relatively near Theed, but still had very little interest in politics, perhaps because they had witnessed all the stress and even violence it caused in the families around them. Members were even somewhat discouraged from marrying into political families; they often married instead into the even wealthier Perine family, or even offworld. Before the downfall of the Old Republic brought Naboo into more prominence in galactic politics, the most famous citizen of Naboo was a member of this family: holofilm director Shudu Olnick.
