Secrets of the Ooze is loosely based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. While still light-hearted, Secrets of the Ooze has a much more serious tone in some parts. In addition to two IDW characters Sophie had a major hand in developing (Alopex and Koya), as well as her IDW character Pepperoni, Secrets of the Ooze also showcases a new character, the female Mutant Turtle Artemisia.
