Jaster Mereel was the Mandalore and led the True Mandalorians after the schism. He took Jango in after a battle between the True Mandalorians and the Death Watch killed his parents (unbeknown to Jango his sister Arla was taken by the Death Watch). After his death Jango was declared the new Mandalore of the True Madalorians
