Nova Vestroia was a small colony in the Alpha Centauri system, a terraformed asteroid that had been settled by humans from Russia on Earth. As a result, many inhabitants spoke with thick Russian accents. Dmitri Vlasidovich, briefly the commanding officer of the USS Enterprise, hailed from the colony, where his father and grandfather had been well-regarded and successful politicians.
