The USS Orion was a Steamrunner-class starship in service with Starfleet in 2376. In 2376, the Orion tested the prototype for the wildfire device in the atmosphere of gas giant Galvan VI. During the testing Orion was attacked by an Ovanim who had been living in Galvan VI’s atmosphere. During a recovery effort by the USS da Vinci the Orion was destroyed, but the wildfire device was saved.
