The Sultanate of Turkey (Turkish: Türkiye Sultanlığı), commonly known as Turkey, is an Asian country located on the Anatolian peninsula. Once the core of the Ottoman Empire, the modern day state was organized in the 1920s shortly after the dissolution of the empire. Turkey is a monarchy ruled by the House of Osman.
