Juliane was the sister-in-law of Matt Durning, married to his brother Patrick. She and Patrick came to visit Matt in Los Angeles. Patrick was unable to have a child and they wanted Matt to provide the sperm for Juliane to have a child. Matt and Kelly clashed over the subject with Kelly not wanting Matt to do it. Eventually, Matt agreed to do the procedure.
