The Tangent-class was a Federation class IX destroyer/frigate starship in Starfleet service in the 23rd century, becoming active on reference stardate 2/2003. Tangent-class vessels crewed 119 officers and men, with room for up to 12 passengers. Additionally, the Tangent could carry 15,000 metric tons of cargo, rated at 300 SCU (standard cargo units). The vessels weighed 118,029 metric tons, measured 290 meters in length, 112 meters in width and 59 meters in height.
