They had two winning streaks of 9 games, and had a 13–game unbeaten streak from Sunday, March 3, 1996 to Sunday, March 31, 1996, going 12–0–1 during that stretch. Having the best record in the league, the Red Wings were awarded the President's Trophy. During the 1995–96 regular season, the Red Wings were the only team to score a goal in all 82 of its games.
