Hurricane Matthew was the most devastating storm of the 2016 hurricane season. The storm started out as a tropical wave off of Africa and slowly intensified until it reached the Bahamas were it rapidly intensified into a category 3 and hit Florida and then it hit Louisiana as a category 5. The storm formed on September 30 and dissipated on October 19
