The Chamber of Professions was one of the two houses of the parliament of Beowulf, the other being the Chamber of Shareholders. As of the early 20th Century PD, being elected to a senior government position from the Chamber of Professions was considered unusual. Physicist Joshua Pinder-Swun achieved this around 1920 PD by becoming "Secretary of the Planetary Board of Directors". (HH13)
