The Gate of Light is a portal which appeared in the mountains of Potential Island during the Cataclysm. No one knew of its existence at the time, and the gate lay dormant for ten long years until it suddenly opened during the Second Battle of Remonton as an expedition led by Nicodemus Fowler approached it. It was uncertain where the gate was leading to, but it released strange fog and creatures known as the Dwellers which took over the bodies of Fowler and his expedition. A year later another expedition met a similar fate as the Dwellers, this time led by Fowler himself, ambushed them.
