In late-2268 while under the command of Captain Eugene Myers, the Repulse was assigned to a classified mission to observe and take readings of Ursanis II. Prior to the mission, the crew were briefed by Starfleet Intelligence and told to report their readings to Lieutenant Ming Xiong of starbase Vanguard. To their amazement, and for no reason they could discern, the Class D planetoid was pulverized then winked out of existence when spacetime folded in on itself. (VAN novel: Storming Heaven)
