Arietis Mistmint was Holly's stepmother in Hollyfire's Tale. She was the healer of the squirrels of Kitalpha, and the sister of Schedar, the old guard in the Kitalphian Watchtower. At the very beginning, Arietis helped Rigel and his wife Kuma in giving birth to Hollyfire. It was her who christened the squirrelbabe "Hollyfire" at Rigel's suggestion. Arietis fled Kitalpha by way of boats on the Mossflower River, and was lying injured in the woods when she met back up with Rigel and Hollyfire. When the squirrels got to Mossflower Woods, it was Arietis who recognized it as such.
