Amthyst was the first man Commander Daquarius and his Kinshra men encountered when they approached Burthorpe Castle. Wanting to use the Prince as their puppet, Daquarius had Amthyst executed in the manner of a traitor. Anlaf, already mentally unstable due to the Kinshra's sybil's witchcraft, believed Daquarius's reasoning for Amthyst's execution. Daquarius claimed Amthyst had secretly been poisoning Anlaf, although this was untrue.
