The S1-A1 was the first mining-droid to be built by the Urum Republic. He was built in 30 ABY and was sent to mine in the core. In 35 ABY, he returned from the planets core with the extra strong metal they had been looking for. When the S3-series were constructed, S1 was sent to mine stone and steel. He mined the stone and steel till 205 ABY, when he was rebuilt to be a war machine for the rebellion. When he first recieved his new body, he didn't like it but after a while he really enjoyed it and began to fight his way out of the mine to get to the rebellion. He was the only droid to escape, all the other droids were destroyed. He was scanned by the technicians of the rebellion and was then taken to fight with Cohu and his men.
