Formidable was a Strike-class medium cruiser used by the Galactic Empire. Along with Strike cruisers Triumph, Indomitable and the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Grey Wolf it was to ambush a strike force, sent by Grand Admiral Demetrius Zaarin, that was supposed to ambush a convoy of what was supposed to carry Missile Boats, when in reality they carried munitions. The strike force was destroyed and the ships went into hyperspace.
