Eva Brunne (born 7 March 1954 in Malmö) is a Swedish and bishop in the Church of Sweden. Gerd Eva Cecilia Brunne served as a priest since 1978, during which time she has had several positions for the church, including pastor for the parishes Sundbyberg and Flemingsberg In May 2009 she was elected as bishop in Diocese of Stockholm, winning the election by 413 votes against 365 votes. She was ordained to the episcopate on November 8, 2009, and is understood to be the world's first openly lesbian bishop. Brunne lives in Stockholm together with Swedish priest Gunilla Lindén.
