He was born at an unknown date before the Clone Wars to two scouts of the Galactic Republic exploration service. Vylanthar lived through the conflict unharmed, and shortly after the founding of the Galactic Empire, enrolled in the Imperial City Naval College. He graduated as a lieutenant.
