Evil Ward was a Mastery 1 fire spell which allowed the shugenja to inscribe upon the ground a symbol to ward off evil. Any Shadowlands creature near the symbol erupted into flame. Most daimyo had this spell cast daily, both on their personal quarters and on areas where they would receive guests.
