Dark Shredders, Dark Aether counterparts of the Shredders, are enemies that appear in Samus Aran's fight with the Chykka Larva. Like their Aether counterparts, Dark Shredders emerge from their resting place when agitated and attack by exploding near their enemy. These Darklings will be disturbed from rest by the Chykka Larva swimming past them, which will prompt the Dark Shredders to rise and approach Samus.
