He asked to see her consultant, Mr Peakman, but the secretary told him that he would need an appointment. Roy refused to let her close the enquiry window and told her that the delay was cruel, unnecessary and harmful to Hayley's recovery. Mr Peakman himself heard him shouting and promised Roy a five minute meeting provided that he stopped creating a disturbance. Mollified, Roy gave a somewhat ashamed wave of thanks to the secretary.
