Klosto Derine was the leader of Naboo's small "second wave" of human settlers who arrived on Naboo in 3,770 BBY as refugees from the Kanz sector. At the time the Naboo were attempting to negotiate their relations with the Gungans, and under Derine's guidance these settlers acted as the intermediaries, and conducted most of the sub rosa trade that would go on between the Naboo and the Gungans for the next few centuries. As this trade died out in time, Klosto Derine's descendants changed their field to handling purely the money of the humans.
