Manhattan Project was the codename for a program of the United States Military Forces in the 1940s, to develop and build an atomic bomb. Dr. Robert Oppenheimer lead the project as science director. Among the scientists around the world working on this project was Dr. Arthur Truman. (TOS - Star Trek: Assignment: Earth comic: "Brighter Than a Thousand Suns") Lily Sloane was eventually quoted as stating that Zefram Cochrane's warp drive development group was "like a rogue" version of Oppenheimer's group.
