Qhorin Halfhand is an almost legendary ranger of the Night's Watch. He is the second in command of the Shadow Tower. He used to be friends with Mance Rayder, until the latter defected to the Free Folk. Qhorin lost all the fingers of his right hand except his thumb and forefinger to a Wildling axe, thus earning the nickname "the Halfhand". Then he learned to fight as well with his left hand. He wears his long gray hair in a braid.
