One of many megacanes in the Atlantic basin, Megacane Alice hit Cozumel and Cuba at peak intensity, almost wiping them off the map. Due to this, the name Alice was retired and was replaced with Arlene. The U.S declared on May 15, Cozumel and Cuba day, honored those who were killed by Alice. (NHC)
