"Don't Sugar Me" is sung by a miniature Miss Mousey in Waldorf's teacup during the UK Spot in The Muppet Show episode 122. A comedic version of a torch song, "Don't Sugar Me" toys with similes and metaphors for romance which are equally applicable to tea: "Don't stir me, boy, or try to spoon." The lyrics were written by Walt Kelly, the creator of the comic strip Pogo. Kelly also wrote the lyrics for "Man's Best Friend" (also known as "Old Dog Trey"), which Rowlf the Dog performed in episode 404.
