McKenzie Ward is the sister of Emerson Ward, and a repoter for the Los Angeles Daily News. In May of 2005, she wrote a story titled "A Mother's Long Vigil" concerning the unsolved 1988 murder of Rebecca Verloren at the request of LAPD cold-case detectives Kizmin Rider and Harry Bosch.
