The Richtman Corporation was the front for Manpower Incorporated of Mesa in the Star Kingdom of Manticore. At the turn of the 17th Century PD, they invested eight hundred million Manticoran dollars to set up the corporation, hoping to discover how the empathy and telepathy of Sphinxian treecats worked. A Manticoran journalist, with help from the Sphinx Forestry Service, eventually discovered the corporation's true background, and made it public, causing the entire Sphinx operation to come crashing down.
