The base set of 2001 Donruss Classics is a 198 card set containing veterans, rookies and prospect and legendary players. Cards 1-100 are veteran players. Cards 101-150 were rookie and prospect cards that were serial numbered to 585 copies each. Cards 151-200 were Hall of Fame players that were serial numbered to 1755 copies each. All of the short prints were randomly inserted into packs. The key rookies in this set are Albert Pujols and Ichiro Suzuki.
