It is equally adept at swooping in to catch fish as it is diving to ground to grab rodents. This far-reaching talent impressed the Sarians who first saw it when they arrived on Caspar, naming it Flicashook, or Hawk of the Free Winds. Offworld settlers named it Cason Hawk, or Windriding Hawk. It tends to execute its predatory role in judicious fashion, thinning the numbers of rodents that would otherwise run rampant. Because of this, and its widespread territory coverage, Caspians started using it as a symbol of justice. Later, security and military units began employing its shape as a symbol of demarkation between Caspians and Sarian Zealots. Finally, in 4 ABY, the Cason Hawk was adopted as the official bird of Caspia, and its likeness is used prominently in the Vector Apex.
