Astrad was a planet located in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, a gas giant that is the largest body in orbit of the Androcus star system. Star charts referred to Astrad as being a substellar body that had failed to ignite and become a true star, which would have made Astrad into Androcus's binary star companion.
