The United States presidential election, 2000 was a presidential election, held in November 7th, 2000, which saw the victory of Progressive candidate Al Gore against Republican candidate George W. Bush. Gore, while winning the most delegates and being elected with a slight majority by the people (48.4% against Bush's 47.9%), won less states than Bush (27+DC against 29).
