The crash occurred when the Sultan, looking forward to riding his racing Magic Carpet, accidentally took an unenchanted carpet from the floor of his chamber. After jumping from a high tower of Al Kharid's palace, he realised too late that he had grabbed the wrong carpet. He fell to his death, a loss that shook Al Kharid. It was because of this incident that players were not allowed to ride on Magic carpets unless their weapon hand was empty. Recently, however, players have been allowed to ride on them with a weapon once again.
