The Napoleonic Wars were a series of conflicts that took place on Earth involving the French leader Napoléon Bonaparte, for whom the wars were named. The C. S. Forester novel Hornblower and the Hotspur was set during the Napoleonic Wars and involved a British captain who gathered intelligence from French merchants.
