He is 100% cold hearted, he failed Danzō's emotion test not because he showed remorse when he killed his partner, but because he was ecstatic and joyful about the final look on his partner's face when they knew they were going to die by his hand. Aka is a bloodthirsty shinobi with an insationable thirst, he is a very eccentric shinobi with weird hobbies such as the fact that he loves to hear screams of anguish and to torture his enemies without restraint.
