The 1909 Goodall Cup Final was the inaugural inter-state ice hockey championship in Australia as well as being the first time where the Goodall Cup, the oldest ice hockey trophy awarded outside of North America, was ever awarded. The pewter Goodall Cup was donated by a 16 year old John Edwin Goodall.
