You must face the first incarnation of the Darkness Demon. You must go to the Green Mine of Loyalty and gain seven emeralds won from the emerald bleths. Once you have them you must find the chest which is magically sealed within the mine. Place them in a triangle around the chest. Once again the Demon will rise in a form which you must defeat.
