Wraiths refer to the world of the living as the Skinlands; this contrasts with the Shadowlands, the lands of the dead and the wraiths' home. The Skinlands and Shadowlands are separated by the Shroud, which obscures the world of the living to wraiths. Wraiths can get a better view of what's happening among the Quick with the innate ability Lifesight. Spectres cannot see through the Shroud and therefore into the Skinlands unless they have the Dark Arcanos Shroud-Rending. Werewolves and other shapechangers refer to the Skinlands as the "Gaia Realm", in honor of Gaia, the spirit of the Earth.
