Mickey becomes interested in flying planes and starts taking flying lessons, taught by Ducky Lindy. He gets so caught up in studying his lessons that he has little time to spend with his friends, as shown when he doesn't go swimming with Minnie or playing baseball with Goofy. During one of his lessons, Mickey notices how much fun his friends are having without him and finds himself wishing he could be with them. A few days later, Mickey goes on his first solo flight and passes his flying test. He then decides to go find his friends, who are now having their last picnic for the summer. He eventually finds where they're having the picnic and joins his friends for their picnic, and then announces that he is going to give each of them a ride in his plane.
