The Jūrai clan had been a rather small clan with few out standing shinobi and too few rumours and stories surrounding them to be considered anything more than a rather large family. The clan became influential when Ao Jūrai entered into the public eye when she was officially made the Jōnin Commander of Amegakure. From there the clan noticably became more popular with tales spreading of the efforts made by the clan's members and the public becoming aware of the abilities of the Shireigan and its ability to enslave summoned creatures.
