The Summer of the Lazy Trout was the season when the two stoats Dingeye and Thura stole the sword of Martin the Warrior from Redwall Abbey. Young ones Samkim and Arula set out to retrieve the sword. That same summer, Dryditch Fever struck in Redwall and the otter Thrugg and a Dibbun mouse Dumble went to search Flowers of Icetor to heal the afflicted. The Summer of the Lazy Trout was named because of an old lazy trout that lived in the Abbey pond. The trout was first seen when Burrley and another mole commented on him.
